[00:00:00] Dave: Hey there mighty man. I'm your host, Dr. Dave Paszkowski founder of man-made for more coaching, our business helps husbands level up their life. Their leadership and their legacy in marriage and in business. The purpose of this podcast is to bring together like-minded men that feel destined for big things in their life to provide you the resources and community that you need to lead yourself, your family and your business.
[00:00:30] If you've ever felt overwhelmed, frustrated, lost, or alone on your journey to a better and more purposeful life, you're in the right spot. You weren't designed to be average. So it's time to quit living that way today. I'm giving you permission to unlock your true potential and step into all that you were made for.
[00:00:48] What's up mighty men today. We are talking about how you can change your life by changing your mindset and a real quick, for a reminder for you guys, for those that haven't seen [00:01:00] it, uh, we do have a mindset mastery challenge coming up, starting on February 1st is a six day bootcamp style challenge. How we're going all in on it with a bunch of guys and just doing everything we can to.
[00:01:13] Rewrite our mindset and create this championship mindset that we're going to be talking about today. So if you guys have any interest in that, make sure to head to the link in the show notes, to check that out. That starts February 1st. We're going to hit the ground running six days in a row of a group, coaching of community of different strategies and resources to help take your mindset to the next.
[00:01:33] Level. And, um, guys, I, I, I created that challenge purely out of the need that I had for myself six months ago. We're going to talk about that a little bit as we get into the show here, but just as something I see so many guys plagued with and something that we need to, we need to flip that script and start intentionally working on our mindset.
[00:01:53] Because I found most men don't realize that their mindset is what's holding them back from greatness. If you have an area of your life, that doesn't look the way you [00:02:00] want it to, and this can be physically, financially, spiritually in your relationships, then it's time to dial in your mindset. Because if you don't take control of your mind, someone or something else will.
[00:02:12] Someone or something else. Well, guys, if you don't, most men fall into the traps of getting complacent in the areas of their life that matter the most it's time to change that it's time to jumpstart your new mindset and raise your level of focus. And that is exactly what we're going to be doing today.
[00:02:26] And that's the purpose of today's show is to give you guys some power strategies to use, to start to develop that championship mindset. And if you want to know the power of your mind, listen up to what Gandhi said about. Our mindset and how our thoughts dictate so many things. He says your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words.
[00:02:48] Your words become your actions, your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values, your values become your destiny, man. That's so good. I [00:03:00] want to read it again. It says your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits, your habits become your values and your values become your destiny.
[00:03:17] How powerful is that? What we believe? Leave the beliefs we're telling ourselves in the thoughts we have eventually determine our actions eventually determine our habits, which eventually controls our destiny. Guys that is so powerful. And that's the power that our mind has. It can do incredible things that can take us to a whole new levels across all these areas of our lives, or it can keep us stuck in the same thought patterns.
[00:03:38] We have the same comfort zones we're in doing the same thing over and over again for weeks, for months, for years caught in the same old routes, having the same conversations, guys, this mindset is what can take that, take that comfort zone and bring us to a whole new Heights. Guys, I'm passionate about this because I've, I've seen in my own life and [00:04:00] I've seen it in so many of our coaching clients lives taking control of your mindset will do so much for your life across all these areas.
[00:04:08] And I would argue that a failure to master your mindset is what plagues most men I know from attaining the life that thereafter look at any area of your life that might not be quite where you want it to be. And started asking some of the following questions. So picture that area of your life. Maybe it's maybe it's not quite where you want it to be.
[00:04:23] We all, we all have that area think. Yeah, it might be spiritually. It might be your mindset, emotionally, your relationships physically in your health, financially your career. What area is that for? You? That might not be quite how you want it to look and ask yourself some of the following questions to identify how your mindset really is around that.
[00:04:43] And guys, this isn't a, this isn't judging this isn't shaming. The shouldn't bring guilt. This is just taking an honest inventory of what's going on in our lives and how we can start to turn that around. One question to ask, am I fully confident in my ability to succeed in this area? Do you [00:05:00] find yourself saying, well, I hope I want, I want this, so it'd be nice to, or I think I can do this then you might not have the confidence you need to get to the next level.
[00:05:09] And if you don't have this confidence in yourself and your abilities in the life, you're living, then it's going to show, it's going to show through a mindset that isn't quite ready to take you to that next level. Another question, do I take setbacks and stride and continue to make progress? This is a telltale sign of having the right mindset.
[00:05:30] Setbacks will happen. It's not just a matter of well, if they happen, it's a matter of when they happen. There's something that will happen time and time again. And the ones with the right mindset, take those setbacks and stride. They adjust, they recalibrate, they move forward. They don't dwell on it. They don't sit in it.
[00:05:47] They don't mope in it. Guys. That's a telltale sign of how your mindset is doing, how you respond to those setbacks. Another question. Are you filling your mind with positive thoughts and energy, or do you find [00:06:00] yourself speaking negatively to yourself and to others or speaking down on your dreams? I know way too many guys who think small and their actions reflected in how they approach their days, their weeks, their years, they limit their God-given potential and play small instead of going all in.
[00:06:17] I know so many guys that, you know, they say like, Oh God, I would love to start this business. I would love to do this. I would love to be financially in that position. I would love to have a marriage like you guys have. That'd be, that'd be so great. But, and then insert in whatever they feel is doing, doing them a disservice to getting there.
[00:06:35] I'm not seeing these excuses. These are deeply ingrained mindsets that say why I'd love to be financially successful, but. No, my family's never been that way at work in this job. I, it's just not really realistic for what I do. This happened all the time, guys. And I want you to know you're not alone because I hear these things all the time from our coaching clients.
[00:06:55] I used to hear these thoughts all the time, my own head, they still creep in. This is [00:07:00] normal guys, but we have to be aware of it and we have to be able to address it because I know how hard it is to be plagued by a mindset that's controlling you and bringing you down versus lifting you up. I've been there, my own thoughts and my actions telling people, I want to do all these big things, but really deep down, not fully believing in my abilities.
[00:07:17] Not really believing it externally, putting on this front of like, yes, I want to do this. It's going to be big. I got big things ahead. We're doing these great things, but internally doubts and that voice and that reasoning of that rational thinking comes in and like, well, how are you really going to do this?
[00:07:33] How is this going to happen? I don't think you can do this. And those things plaguing me for years guys, to know that you're not alone in these thoughts. And if you're trying to put on that front of being confident on the outside, but you're filled with doubts and overwhelm on the inside. You're definitely not alone guys.
[00:07:50] That's exactly the journey of bene. I've been on this for years, but especially intentionally, I've been on this journey over the last six months. And that's why I created the six day [00:08:00] mindset mastery challenge. You guys can learn the skills that I wish I had years ago, the skills I had to learn the hard way.
[00:08:06] Some of you guys know, I, I played, I was fortunate enough to play college football at a small, small school and mindset was, was never an issue for me in sports. I was always the one that worked a little bit harder, stayed a little bit later. Got there early. Those things were never an issue for me. I didn't let up on our sprint side.
[00:08:25] I was always the one, not always the fastest, not always the strongest, but it always came natural to me to just, just push it harder to leave it all out there. But. Real real talk when, when football gets removed and you're used to having this formal athletic background for so many years, I had problems staying motivated and putting in the needed to work.
[00:08:43] And other areas of my life sports got taken away, done with football. And then all of a sudden I found I had a pretty poor ability to, to handle stressors and to still keep that that mindset football was done. I didn't really have anything I was super passionate about. And that led to poor ability to [00:09:00] handle these stressors.
[00:09:01] And fast forward to, um, finishing PT school, getting married to my wife, Lindsay, moving to moving across country, starting a business. These things started to get started to reveal themselves more and more and more when I didn't have as much responsibility when I was playing small still, it didn't really happen.
[00:09:21] But as I tried to play big, I tried to level up, we're doing these big things, but my mindset wasn't quite ready for it. And that showed in, uh, and in fights and, uh, lack of belief and confidence issues and all these things. As we try to navigate this, this totally new season we were in, I didn't have the right mindset to deal with it over the last six months.
[00:09:42] Like I said, I've worked really hard at getting my mental edge back in mashing my mindset, because what I found with so many of our coaching clients and then made for more, they begin working with me and they have a mindset that's not yet built on a solid foundation. They're played with things like doubts, [00:10:00] fears, insecurities, uncertainty, lack of confidence, guys.
[00:10:05] These things are so common, their real struggles that so many men face. And that's the main reason I'm pointing out there. These are not, you're not alone by, by feeling any of these things. I know because I've been there. And so many of my coaching clients have been there too. But it's completely possible.
[00:10:20] 100% possible to rewrite that script and develop a championship mindset in everything you do. Let's talk about how to do that. So I put together for today's show five power strategies to help you master your mindset, to take your life to a new level. These are five things you can implement. I want you guys to pay attention as I go through these of which ones really resonate with you and which ones you might need to intentionally spend a little more time working on.
[00:10:45] The first one is the power of your tongue guys. Our words, our mouths carry a lot of weight. And this, this goes a couple of ways. This is internally the dialogue we're having ourselves. And what we're saying externally, [00:11:00] I always believe we have to start with the internal, because if we're internally having conversations ourselves, having those doubts, having those fears, then.
[00:11:08] Externally, it's going to be really hard to put on that conference and really believe that. So I think it starts with internal starts with the dialogue. We're saying to ourselves, as we take on something, are we saying with confidence, do we believe with confidence that we can do what we set out to do? Or are we saying these things and then saying like I did in the past of, I don't, I don't really know how it's gonna work.
[00:11:30] I don't, I don't see how it's going to come together. I mean, if I only, if I get half the results, you know, that it's still be good. We settle for less. And if we start to settle for less than our mind, we're really just settling into that comfort zone. That's so deeply ingrained that complacent attitude that lets us off the hook before we even start, we have to develop that confidence.
[00:11:49] And that starts with how we're speaking to ourselves first. And then how we're speaking externally notice when you're around certain people, how you speak, how you act, and that's going to look [00:12:00] different within different friend groups, within different people. You're talking to. What words are you speaking to others?
[00:12:05] Are you lifting others up? Are you speaking life into them? Cause if you're not speaking life and yourself and you're having those doubts. It's going to come out externally and, and, uh, speaking doubts and other people they'll tell you they're things they want to do. And if you find yourself being like, well, who are they to do that?
[00:12:19] Or I don't think they can actually do that. Or you start bringing them down or saying, I don't think that's possible. That's again, the power of your tongue at work. And we need to rewrite those scripts. This is the first place we start is changing how you're talking to yourself and how you're talking to others.
[00:12:35] Second power strategy, the power of discipline and daily habits. Talked about this in our last week's episode of self-leadership. If you can't lead yourself, guys, you cannot lead others. And we're all in a leadership position. Whether we know it or not calling a position of influence to someone and the ability to have discipline and have these daily habits is what's necessary to take your mindset to the next level.
[00:12:58] And like the quote from [00:13:00] Gandhi, where as we start taking our mindset to the next level, then our actions follow our habits. Follow our destiny follows. So we want to make sure that we're intentionally doing this every single day, guys, addressing your mindset is not easy. I know it. I put it off for a long time.
[00:13:15] I just like in the back of my mind, I'm like, I hope this gets better. I know I need to do better with this. Maybe if I read enough self-help books, if I listened to enough podcasts, I'll just start to fill myself with enough. Good. And my mindset will follow. I'm here to tell you that's not the case. You can listen to all the podcasts.
[00:13:30] You can listen, read all the books, but if you're not. Every single day, if you're not doing something that works on these areas, you need to, maybe it's the power of your time. Maybe you have to, you know, do some affirmations, do some visualization, do different self-talk things to, to do that. Guys, these things seem silly and they're inconvenient.
[00:13:49] They're not easy. They're not something we program into our day, but that's where this discipline comes in. If you want to do, if you want to do the things that you've never done or that other people haven't done. [00:14:00] You have to start taking those, those daily disciplines and those habits and change the way those are.
[00:14:05] You're going to have to change your, your output. If you want a different input, third power strategy, the power of daily doses of discomfort. That's a big one. A lot of, a lot of guys fall into a comfort zone and they get complacent in what they're doing. They get complacent and good enough and average.
[00:14:23] Not here, guys, not here where we're not about that. And we're not going to all be perfect. I have a long way to go in this, but this is something that the more you work on it, the more you get out of your comfort zone, the more you're going to realize what you're really capable of. And I'm currently going through something similar, similar to this it's called 75 strong by Andy Frisella.
[00:14:42] You guys can look up the details. He has a modified the challenge a little bit, but it's essentially, it's a. A way to get out of your comfort zone and create these daily doses of, of discomfort. It's a, you know, a couple of things it's, uh, two workouts a day, you know, workouts, uh, a vague term, [00:15:00] you know, it's not, uh, it's not over-training, but it's, it's getting outside, taking a walk, doing some, you know, light, fasted, cardio.
[00:15:05] And then I work out in the evening. There's different ways to do that. Uh, it's cold showers, it's reading nonfiction 10 pages every day. And I stack some other habits in there. Work-wise as well that I wanted to, I want to improve in. And, uh, essentially what I'm saying, this isn't for everyone. It's 75 days of no alcohol, no cheating on your diet on different things.
[00:15:24] But what is really doing is, is getting myself out of my comfort zone because for me, what I realized is that I would do really good for. Six days or 13 days. And then, you know, certain weekends would come around and things would come up and you get relaxed. And then that carries over for a few days and uh, that cycle can happen again and again, and it creates that complacency.
[00:15:44] It creates that, that comfort zone that I love being in, we all love being in our comfort zone. It's, what's familiar. It's what's new. But what this is doing is creating stacking these daily habits on top of each other, to get myself out of my comfort zone. And one of the work ones I'm doing especially is to get outside of [00:16:00] my comfort zone in our business and in our work, because that's an area where I was getting complacent.
[00:16:05] There's a lot of things that don't need to get done on a given day. But that we know in the back of her mind, these things are going to help push us forward. Yeah. It's so easy to play small and be like, Oh, well, I don't feel like doing that today. I don't feel like posting on social media guys. You see me on social media a lot.
[00:16:21] I do not like posting on social media. It's something I do because it's a great platform to share. It's a great way to get these messages out to guys that need to hear it. So I have learned it to suck it up and just do it, but that's where in all honesty, you'll see me. Get really, uh, you know, really passionate about posting for a couple of weeks, and then I'll disappear for a couple of weeks in there.
[00:16:44] And that's something that I've always struggled with, but I've, I've changed in, in these ways to having that, that daily discomfort, it could be something as small for me of posting on social media for you. It might not, it might be taking social media off your phone. There's lots of ways this can look, but those [00:17:00] daily dose of discomfort slowly build us up slowly.
[00:17:03] Weather us slowly shape us in the man that we want to be. So that was the third power, power strategy, the power of daily dose of discomfort, the fourth one, the power of your environment. And I like to say starving the negative and feeding the positive. These both go hand in hand, and they're both things you have to do to properly.
[00:17:24] Take your mindset to the next level. Be really aware of the environment you're in. That's the people you're around this podcast. You're listening to the books, you're reading the news. You're watching or not watching the scrolling you're doing on social media. Anything that you let into your mind, anything you let in into your day is either moving you closer to that mindset you want or moving you further away.
[00:17:46] If you go on social media and you look at everyone's highlight reels and everyone's life so great. And this and that, and it creates more of these doubts and insecurities then have you don't need to be doing that. Maybe you don't need to be scrolling. Social media is not, not all it's made up to be anyways for.
[00:17:59] It's [00:18:00] not a true, true picture of people's lives, but we can't just starve the negative. We have to take the negative out, but we have to replace that with positive. We have to find the right books and resources we need. Maybe you need to go out and get a coach. Maybe you need to work with a trainer. Maybe you need to know, listen to specific podcasts in the areas you're struggling with.
[00:18:21] That's the power of your environment, because the more you, the more you surround yourself, the right people, the right friends, the right resources, right. Content. It's going to show in your, it's gonna show in your mindset. Last power strategy here. Fifth one, the power of your tribe. And this goes hand in hand with the power of your environment, but who you surround yourself with will determine what your life looks like.
[00:18:43] And they say this all the time, look at the five people you spend the most time with. You're probably going to be, uh, an average of, you know, some combination of those five people that you're, you're spending those time with. So, if you want to be, if you find that, uh, you know, maybe your physical health was in as good as you want it to be, [00:19:00] find some people in that area that can, um, can help push you maybe financially or in business.
[00:19:05] You're, you're not doing as well as you want, find those next, those what I call level uptight people that you can be around that you can just. Ask questions of that can support you, that can help you through it. That have been there before as a part of your tribe guys, when you get it, get around like-minded guys, people just put the mindset, people listening to this podcast that are listening, you know, you're listening to right now.
[00:19:27] There's plenty of other guys right now, listen to the same thing that are, are just, you know, fired up about living a better life, changing their mindset, doing more. Achieving more, being more showing up more for others. There's a lot of other guys out there that are just like you. And I know you think you're alone sometimes can feel isolated when you're like, man, I want to do these big things.
[00:19:48] I, I want to level my mindset. I want to do that, but my family doesn't understand my friends don't understand. You're not alone, guys. You just got to find the right tribe. And there's there's power when you can do that. [00:20:00] That's when things really take off. Because one thing I found out when, before I found some people in my tribe, I thought I was thinking big, but they demand, they demand more on me.
[00:20:09] They pushed me further and they see what's, what's possible even more than I can. And if you get around people that can speak enough truth into you, that can speak their confidence in you. You're gonna start to believe it too. So guys, there's our five power strategies. The power of your tongue, the power of discipline and daily habits, power of daily doses of discomfort, the power of your environment and the power of your tribe.
[00:20:32] So my take action takeaway for you guys. The thing you can take and apply from this is find one of those strategies that needs work of those five power strategies that we talked through and put into practice, Mark it off on your calendar. If you need to put it in every single day and make sure you're working on it.
[00:20:49] Guys, if you are really serious about taking your mindset to the next level, let me help you. We've got a six day challenge coming up, starting on February 1st, Robbie coaching, a group of guys through a mindset mastery challenge. [00:21:00] Think of this, like a bootcamp for your mindset, it's going to be something you don't want to miss.
[00:21:04] If you need more specific guidance, if you need support, if you need accountability for myself and other like-minded men looking to take their life to an, to a whole new level, looking to play it at a different speed. This is for the guys really looking to take action and not simply watch from the sidelines.
[00:21:20] So if that sounds like you, if this, uh, if this. Show or any of these power, the power promises, the power strategies hit home. It's time to get in the game. If you're serious about your goals and your passions, guys, we can get you there and we can do this together. Imagine having this championships mindset unphased by whatever life throws at you and filled with confidence in all areas of your life.
[00:21:42] This is possible with intentionally working on your mindset muscles, as much as you do your physical ones. Guys. I'm so glad you listened in today. This is a, this is an episode that's heavy on my heart. So I've been working on for a long time because I know the importance of it. It runs deep in my life.
[00:21:58] My, my [00:22:00] lack of confidence, my doubts, those things that I was played with for a long time. [00:22:39] Take it to see how you stack up. There's some, uh, some of the questions we've talked about today, uh, go a little more in depth on that. And it's a true false thing. Yes or no. You guys can click through that and see where you guys stack up when it comes to your mindset. Second thing at that same link there in the show notes, you can learn more about that upcoming mindset mastery challenge starting on February 1st.
